Ella began her journey into the wellness industry by training at Stamford College straight after graduating from school. Ella then went on to experience the spa industry with her new found love for massage and holistic therapies, but knew that this environment wasn’t for her and decided to build a career in the hospitality industry for several years, and so the dream of having a business that she could make her own took a backseat for a while.
A Touch of Tranquility’s journey began as a side hobby for Ella shortly after having her little boy and realising that self-care, time to switch off and still dedicating time to be ‘Ella’ as well as ‘Mum’ was more important now than ever before.
It very quickly developed into something much more due to the sheer determination and passion that Ella discovered whilst starting to treat clients and meet women sharing the same thoughts and mindset. However, COVID 19 had other plans and put a halt to everything.
This didn’t get in the way of ensuring that A Touch of Tranquility’s time wasn’t just temporary. If anything, the aftermath and effect of the virus only empowered Ella to make it her full time mission to promote, prioritise and normalise the importance of self care for others.
Ella used her time out of work during the pandemic to create a strong social media presence online, and shortly after the industry reopened in 2020, A Touch of Tranquility was reaching more people than Ella’s little room at home could accommodate.
It was at this point that Ella ventured out into a high street salon, renting a room and spreading more love around the north of Peterborough in Werrington. Whilst this opportunity helped Ella to grow the business and explore new avenues and experience much more than she could have ever imagined, it still wasn’t the environment she had in mind for her clients to receive the best care.
It was at that point in 2022 that A Touch of Tranquility opened it’s doors to a new home, a private garden sanctuary, dedicated to serving every client with all the energy they deserve, no distractions, complete privacy and peacefulness.

On October 7, 2023, at The Peterborough Small Business Awards, A Touch of Tranquility was awarded 'Highly Commended' in the 'Customer Care' category. This recognition means a lot to Ella, since making the brand’s ethos & primary goal to ensure every client feels valued, regardless of their circumstances. Ella appreciates the judging panel for acknowledging her commitment to caring for each and every one of her clients.
About The Small Business Awards:
The Small Business Awards aim to reward, acknowledge, and inspire small businesses across the UK through local awards programmes, they are the only awards programme in the UK specifically geared around and for small and micro businesses and are incredibly proud to be in their 8th year in Peterborough with further areas in the east midlands already launched.
The 2023 awards event was held at The Holiday Inn, Thorpe Wood, Peterborough with over 360 attendees, it was a night of celebration for many incredible small business finalists, families and supporters rewarding these businesses that are based within the Peterborough and Greater Peterborough area.
A Touch of Tranquility was also nominated and selected as a finalist for the 2024 awards too which is another proud and humbling achievement. Ella’s goals are to continue excelling in providing an enriching service for all clients who visit and potentially collect further awards to recognise all the hard work and dedication that is put into A Touch of Tranquility everyday.
